An open letter regarding Sarah Palin
Please stop spreading her stupidity. I completely agree with you that she’s a human piece of shit and probably has the mental capacity of her son (yes, THAT one) but by reblogging her twitter posts (not to mention subscribing in the first place), spreading news articles, and sharing footage of the dumb things she says on Fox News you’re only giving her legitimacy. If she didn’t rile up the liberals she wouldn’t be seen as a hero by the Tea Party people.
Remember, she no longer behaves like a politician. If we don’t like what she does we can’t vote her out of office. She’s using the media - and shockingly, the internet - to use the Attention Economy to stay in power. As long as she’s in the media she’s in power. So treat her like you would a horrible movie: just stop watching it. The Last Airbender is still only just barely in the public consciousness but only because it was so unbelievably bad. Sarah Palin = The Last Airbender.
As long as we pay attention to her, she exists.
Future suggestions
- If you do want to share something about her, write her name like this “S**** P****”. It removes her from any web indexing engines. Plus it sends the message that she almost literally doesn’t exist.
- If there’s an article you need to share ask yourself first “does this infuriate me?” If you want to share it because it makes you hate her more, definitely do not share it. It gives her power over you and thus keeps her media engine turning
- I understand it’s important to pay attention to both sides of the political spectrum but there are actually important things being done in politics right now besides the culture of anti-intellectualism that’s being spread on the “news” and that is not politics.
Note: This also goes for Glen Beck (G*** B***), Ann Coulter (A** C******), and K*** R*** (Karl Rove).
I long ago stopped mentioning that skinny biatch Ann You-Know-Who on DavidDust - and I really should consider giving the same treatment to Moose Mess Palin. What do you think???
