I'm A Busy Bunny!
I've been extremely busy at work over the past couple weeks, and this frantic workload shows no signs of letting up for a while. Don't get me wrong, this is a good thing because it means a couple extra bucks in my pocket - but it will surely result in reduced amounts of blogging. Maybe I should get an Assistant?...
Anywhore - you know ME, I'll always find time to blog so please keep stopping by. And while I have you here now, tell us how things are going in YOUR life. How's work? How's the family?? Let us know what's new and different (or not) in the Comments.
Nothing will put a smile on my face quicker (and make the day less stressful) than hearing from my beloved DustBunnies. Well, that and an Arby's Roast Beef sandwich.
Speaking of Hot Beef ... where did that Assistant of mine rune off to? Caaaarrlooooos?!!? Oh Caaaaarrrrloooooss?!!?!!

"Heartless Contessa" Post Shouted-Out In LA Times Blog !
The post I did last week regarding Fancy Hamptons Lady Ina Garten ("The Heartless Contessa") got mentioned in yesterday's Los Angeles Times food blog - Daily Dish. Check it out HERE - the link to my post is in the 6th paragraph. Not that I counted or anything.

I Guess That Would Make ME ...
... an attractive guy hanging out on the steps somewhere. Or Joetta Lynn Lovett. Or a judgmental bunny. Or a delicious Arby's Roast Beef sandwich. The possibilities are endless.

Keith Olbermann has launched the FOK News Channel (FOK = "Friends of Keith") blog, and I'm loving it. He even does "Worst Persons"!

David Dust After Dark
Don't forget to check out my new tumblr - DavidDust After Dark (DDAD). But don't click the link if your boss is nearby ... if you smell what I'm steppin' in.
Check out DavidDust After Dark HERE. And if your boss walks in on you, tell him you're conducting TOP SECRET "anatomy research" - and you really can't talk about it. Because if you DID talk about you'd have to kill him.
Note: In order to "like" or "reblog" something (and/or leave notes/comments and follow people) on tumblr, you must create a tumblr account. It's easy as hell (If I can do it anyone can) and it takes about two seconds. Go ahead, TRY IT FOR YOURSELF. I've already gotten at least one DustBunny hooked.
Also Note: DavidDust.com isn't changing - DDAD is just a (sexy) supplement to my main blog.

2011 Bloggie Award Nominations
The 2011 Bloggie Awards are now accepting nominations - go HERE and nominate your favorite blogs. You may recall that Soundtrack To My Day - the blog belonging to long-time DustBunny (and friend) Howard - won the 2010 Bloggie for Best Music Blog - so make sure you nominate him again (I already have).
Thanks to Wonder Man for the reminder.

Thanksgiving Plans
I have an extremely taxing two-day workweek this week - and then I'm off until next Tuesday. On Wednesday morning I'll be taking my annual trip to the land of my forefathers and foremothers - Central Pennsylvania.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday - no presents to buy, no feeling guilty for not setting foot in a church for 35 years - just plain old American gluttony. Although I just read that the Teatards think Thanksgiving is some kind of socialist commie bastard holiday. Or something. Sweet Baby Jeebus, those idiots ruin EVERYTHING.
While in PA, my best gay girlfriend and I are planning on seeing Burlesque (Cher + Xtina = GAYGASM), and I was thinking about taking my Dad to see Harry Potter (he has read all the books) - but not if there's a scene like this ...
In a programming note, I will NOT be recapping tomorrow's The Fashion Show - but recaps will return the following week. Also, blogging will be existent but much lighter than usual while I'm away.
What are YOUR plans for the Thanksgiving holiday??

Sounds About Right To Me ...
I saw this yesterday over at Nutwood Beth's BLOG, so I thought I'd give it a try. URLAI.com analyzes your blog/website and then gives you some insightful information about the author of said blog/website. Here's what they had to say about DavidDust.com:
Text analysis
daviddust.com is probably written by a female somewhere between 66-100 years old. The writing style is personal and happy most of the time.
So, apparently, I write like a happy 100 year old woman. Well here's what I have to say about THAT ...

Dwight Supremacy Is Back!
After taking a little vacation, one of my favorite bloggers in the world is back! That's right, Dwight Supremacy - originator of the "Daddy of the Day" and "SIRveillance" (which I've turned into PAPIveillance) - is back and blogging.
Please check Dwight out HERE.

Mrs. Alaineus Has Moved
Our beloved DustBunny Mrs. (née Miss) Alaineus (above, with her hubby Mr. M) has had a bunch of problems with Blogger, so she's starting fresh at a new URL. Please visit her new blog at:
You'll need to "follow" Mrs. A again at her new place, and you'll also need to update your Google Readers.

Be Back Soon
Oy. I got an email from Blogger instructing me to clear up some issues or I wouldn't be able to keep the advertisements on my blog. So I've literally been going through my 4,000+ blog posts to insure that none are violating any rules. Unsurprisingly, this process is taking me forever - and I only have 72 hours to complete it - so there will be no new posting until this gets done.

2 Million Page Views!
That's right people - DavidDust hit the 2 million page views mark sometime last week!! That means in the less than 15 months (since I installed my Statcounter), 2 million pages of my little bloggie have been viewed by you fierce biatches!
I would truly like to thank each and every one of you for stopping by - and for your continued support.
One of my favorite posts over the past few months was one where I asked DustBunnies who always read but have NEVER commented to "check in" and tell us who you are. I am a complete stalker of my Feedjit thingy (screen capture below) - which shows me, in real time, as people log on and off of DavidDust. I sometimes notice the same towns over and over and wonder "Who are these Fierce Biatches??"
So, if you have never commented before - PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT TELLING US WHO YOU ARE AND WHERE YOU LIVE and anything else you might want to add.
FYI: you can no longer comment anonymously, but getting a Blogger account is free, quick and easy. Just click on the weird orange "B" at the upper left corner of this page and they'll walk you through it.
I would ESPECIALLY like to hear from NYC DustBunnies, and Bunnies from Pennsylvania (where I was born and raised). Chambersburg? Coatesville? I know you're reading - please say "Hi!!".
Anywhore ... thanks again for everything. I heart every single one of you.
>P,B!

"A Blogger Walks Into A Bar..."
Ouch. This sign was spotted outside an Austin, TX bar during SXSW - a conference attended by many of the top bloggers in the blogosphere. Source.

Check Out Kayce's New Blog
You may remember DustBunny Kayce from her old culinary blog - Chef The City. But I know Kayce as one of my very first "blog friends" - and someone I've had the pleasure of getting to know over the past couple years.
After taking a break from blogging, Kayce has decided to return to the blogosphere (although she never left Twitter). And her focus this time is her on-going journey with healthy eating and fitness. By the looks of the picture above, she is definitely moving in the right direction.
Please take a moment to check out Kayce's new blog - Life, Hold The Salt.

You Can Ring My Bell
The thing I love the most about this whole blogging thing has been the fabulous people I have gotten to know - both via the internet and in real life. Whether it's by blog comment, email, telephone call, or in-person, I LOVE getting to know all the fabulous member of the Dust BunnyNation.
And one of the things that has REALLY tickled me are the emails I get when one of you goes to Arby's. It totally cracks me up (and fills me with pride) that when you biatches are "thinking Arby's", you also end up thinking about me.
So thanks to fabulous blogger Sozo who snapped this picture of the Arby's bell (top) after lunch the other day. He had a fabulous meal, and gave the bell a ring on his way out!
Has anybody else been thinking Arby's lately?...

New Blog Gadgets

Over the weekend I added a couple of gadgets to the blog. The neatest one is a ShareThis feature...

After each post you will see the ShareThis button (above). Hit the button and a pop-up menu (below) will appear. You can then share the blog post on BookFace, Twatter, and a whole bunch of other sites...

If you ever share something using ShareThis, please let me know how it went. I'm curious to see how well this works and if you all like it.
The other thing I've added is something I'm calling the "DavidDust Arby's Fund"...

This one makes me feel a little awkward, but I've had numerous other Bloggers suggest I do it. Basically, it's a donation button. Times are tough, money is tight, and Curley Fries ain't gonna buy themselves. If you like what I do and want to show your love, look for this button on my sidebar...

Twenty percent of all your donations will be put DIRECTLY into go-go guys undies at The Urges. Ok, not really...

Over One Million Page Loads!!

Holy cow!! I just happened to check the StatCounter at the bottom of my blog page, and it recently rolled over the ONE MILLION mark!! I installed StatCounter at the end of April - so in about 6 months DavidDust has had over one million page loads. That is simply mind-boggling.
I feel a little like Dr. Evil ... "One MEEEEEEELION!"...

All I can say is - Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

"A blog May Have At Most 2000 Labels"

Has anyone else who uses Blogger received the following error message when trying to do a new post?...
A blog may have at most 2000 labels
I know Wonder Man has BLOGGED about it - but has anyone else had this problem? Apparently Blogger decided last week to enforce a 2000 Label limit - and I guess I am over the limit. This sucks, because the labels (the "tags" you see at the bottom of each post) we use help search engines know what our blog posts are about. If posts are not labeled, it is harder for search engines to find appropriate posts - which results in less traffic to your blog.
So, for now, I can only use labels that I have previously used. But, for instance, if I do a "Hunk of the Day" post tomorrow and the guy's name is "Carlos Caliente", I can't label my post "Carlos Caliente" - because it's a new label. I can, however, label the post "Hunk of the Day" - a less-specific label I've already used.
Wonder Man posted a LINK to a Blogger Forum where this situation was discussed.
You know, I REALLY need to get www.DavidDust.com up and running. I already own the domain, but unfortunately I am CLUELESS when it comes to HTML and everything else. If there is anyone out there who wants to help me modernize, redesign and improve DavidDust, I can't offer any money - but I could publicize the HELL out of your work. After all, DavidDust averages about 5,000 page-views per DAY - so a "button" ad on my sidebar would be seen by literally thousands of people each week. Feel free to send me an email with your ideas: daviddust@gmail.com
