2011: Year of the (Dust)Bunny!

Today marks the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit in the Chinese zodiac - but I'd like to think of it as "The Year of the DustBunny"! Happy New Year to all my lovely bunnies out there - and to my imaginary husband, actor Franky G:

According to THIS website - here's what we have in store during this next wonderful year:

A placid year, very much welcomed and needed after the ferocious year of the Tiger. We should go off to some quiet spot to lick our wounds and get some rest after all the battles of the previous year.

Good taste and refinement will shine on everything and people will acknowledge that persuasion is better than force. A congenial time in which diplomacy, international relations and politics will be given a front seat again. We will act with discretion and make reasonable concessions without too much difficulty.

A time to watch out that we do not become too indulgent. The influence of the Rabbit tends to spoil those who like too much comfort and thus impair their effectiveness and sense of duty.

Money can be made without too much labor. Our life style will be languid and leisurely as we allow ourselves the luxuries we have always craved for. A temperate year with unhurried pace. For once, it may seem possible for us to be carefree and happy without too many annoyances.

I'd like to wish the entire DustBunny Nation a happy, healthy and prosperous Year of the DustBunny/Rabbit. Gung Hay Fat Choy. - which, BTW, means "Your ankles look fat" in Chinese. Look it up if you don't believe me.

Holiday Greetings from Maddie

I found these over at Mistress Maddie's BLOG, and it doesn't take a CSI, a Psychic or Nancy Drew to figure out the theme here. Yes, my dear sister Maddie has a drinking problem - especially during the holidays. Specifically, her problem is that she can't get the gin down her thirsty gullet fast enough. Which is definitely a problem.

Welcome to White Meat Monday

Today is White Meat Monday - and my last day of work until the New Year. On Wednesday I'll be jumping on an Amtrak train bound for Central PA - and then I'll be returning to NYC a week or so later for some vegging at home.

Is anyone else getting outta Dodge this week for the Holidays??

Only three more days of work this week and ONE day next week - and then I'm off until 2011. Now if I could just spend my vacay with THIS fine gentleman...
