Artist On The Rise: Lady Jazz

On The 6th Proudly Presents this artist on the rise. Reality Tv Star Tami Roman's daughter Jazz. She is stepping out into her own and showing the world her talent as a rapper. Talent must run in the family having an Nba Star as a father and multi-talented mother in the entertainment business your destined for greatness. Take a minute and get to know Jazz Anderson, a.k.a Lady Jazz.

In her own words:

My name is Jazz Anderson a.k.a Lady Jazz and I'm 15 years old. I'm from Los Angeles, Ca and have always been in love with the art of music. Ever since I was little, teachers as well as my mom, have told me that I have great writing ability and a way with words, so when I was about ten, I started adding beats to my poems.

I started to expand on my talent in rapping to a point where I now take the craft very seriously. Rapping went from a hobby to a career I’d like to pursue. At the moment I'm working on a mixtape, until it drops I've been releasing Youtube videos for my fans and supporters. Every day, is another day of trying to create a bigger buzz for myself.

When I was 12, I came home from school one day and had decided that I’d do a remix to Kid Cudi’s “Day and Night”. I took out my blackberry and played the beat on my computer and just typed and rapped everything that came to mind, while the camera recorded me. I then submitted the video to Worldstarhiphop.com not really thinking they’d feature the video, but they did. I was far from shocked and now that I look back on my “Day and Night Remix”, I wonder why I made that video my first. Many people love it though, so maybe I’m just being too hard on myself…

My proudest moment so far is probably when I was interviewed on 100.3 The Beat in Philly. It was my first radio interview and I was shocked that out of all people, they picked me, an upcoming artist to be on such a well known radio station. I was only fourteen at the time I got interviewed, so I was like the coolest kid in my class after they found out I’d been interviewed on a famous radio station.

The goal I want to achieve the most, would probably have to be winning an award for one of my songs or even an album if I get blessed to be able to make one.

I'm very outgoing, charismatic, and most people tell me I'm humorous. At points I can push myself to the limit with certain goals I'm trying to accomplish before a certain time period, which can cause me to stress out a lot, so I would probably change that habit of mine.

The best advice my mother has given me would probably be to stay true to who I am as an artist as well as a person, no matter who’s in my ear or what they may be trying to persuade me to do or believe. Also don’t believe your own hype because people can praise you one minute and the next minute, you’re considered old news and someone hotter has taken your spot.

Advice I’d give to others on the rise, no matter what form of entertainment it may be, would be the advice my mother gave me, as well as to truly love what you’re doing. When you get to a point where you love what you’re doing and are passionate about it, everything else will fall into play and it will never feel like a task or job. After you’ve come to terms with yourself that you’re passionate about what you’re pursuing, you will only work to get better and progress and at the end of the day, practice makes perfect.

In the outside world, amongst my peers, they still look at me as myself, Jazz Anderson. The Jazz Anderson they knew before the cameras were in my face, not the one they now see on television crying over her absent father or pursuing her music career. When it comes to people that don’t know me, they treat me as if I’m a celebrity, which I don’t believe I am yet. But I guess I’m honored and flattered that people give me a certain type of respect now that they’ve seen me on television, when at the end of the day, I’m equal to them. Amongst my family, everything is the same as it was before, no one is treated differently, which is great!
