News: Ja Rule More Jail Time?
Ja Rule has been sentenced for his March tax evasion case, and it looks like the incarcerated rapper caught a lucky break.
He was sentenced to two years for failing to pay taxes on $3 million between 2004 and 2006, but since he is already serving two years in Rikers for a gun charge, he is being allowed to carry out the two sentences simultaneously.
According to Ja's lawyer, Stacey Richman, the rapper may only have to serve an additional four months.
"The judge was very kind in issuing a variance because it was her concern that there had to be some aspect of separate penance for this federal action,” Richman told xxlmag.com.
Ja began serving his gun charge sentence last month. His planned seventh album, "Pain is Love 2", is currently without a release date.
