Super producer and music executive Christopher “Tricky” Stewart will be the next head of A&R at Epic Records, sources tell Billboard.biz.
He is expanding his relationship with Epic parent Sony Music, which signed an exclusive distribution deal with his own RedZone Entertainment imprint earlier this year.
Stewart has a well-respected ear for talent, most recently helping guide neo-R&B crooner Frank Ocean to stardom and has worked with Jennifer Lopez.
Epic Records has undergone a massive overhaul this year led by the hiring of powerful music executive Antonio “L.A.” Reid, as the new Chairman and CEO.
