Artist On The Rise: J.Carraway

On The 6th Presents James Hampton An Arist on The Rise. He's actually better known as J.Carraway. Life hasn't always been easy growing up in Sacramento, California. Although the Bay Area gets much love for having artists like E-40, Too Short, and Mistah Fab, it's even harder trying to break onto the music scene.

James was first inspired by music in his early childhood. His mother used to play the latest records every Sunday morning. This was something that he looked forward too and influenced him. Later on James began writing poetry during his high school years. He eventually took his writings on pen & paper and fused it with a beat. Little did he know he had an interesting story to share with the world. Having to dig deep within himself, he is able to share personal stories of his own.

When J.Carraway step to the mic he delivers a new sound and message. J.Carraway is a bit of fresh air. Rather than degrade women he builds them up and lyrically expresses his appreciation for women. Some may conclude that's a little soft but not at all. Hampton was raised by strong black women and so in a sense you get a piece of his upbringing where things like disrespecting women isn't allowed.

J.Carraway is busy working on his new mixtape "Out To Lunch" which features many influential sounds. He's definitely not limiting his abilities to think outside of the box or become a stereotyped artist.
