Erykah Badu Speaks About Being Banned In Malaysia

Erykah Badu spoke during a press conferencein Kuala Lumpur. Her scheduled concert was cancelled due to public outcry of the publication of a semi-nude picture of her with the word ‘Allah’ on her upper body. The photo in question appeared on Badu’s official website it was offensive to many of Malaysia’s Muslim-heavy population.

She said she would still come to the country in the future and even took the time to explain what inspired the photograph. Saying she got it from the 1970s surrealist film, "The Holy Mountain" by Alejandro Jodorowsky.
