They say experience begets wisdom. If that’s true then at 23 years young, Krislyn Rivera is wise beyond her years. Her experiences have become the paint for her canvas & she has the emotional scars to prove it. Creating beautiful art in the form of Pop/Rock songs, reminiscent of some of your favorite female artists in the genre.
The singer, songwriter, and musician, also known as, Krissy was
born in California, raised in Brooklyn, but found her voice in church. The star of the youth choir flexed her vocal muscle, and along with a strong musical influence from her Father, she was able to steer clear of the streets in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn known as “Darkside”. Krissy’s Father taught the young songstress how to play the guitar, and later on she taught herself to play piano, by following the same chord progressions by ear.
After she decided it was time to separate from the church and her first love, the choir, Krissy took her talents to the Karaoke circuit, where she was a known regular, and a well received entertainer. Winning numerous competitions and cash prizes, Karaoke-Krissy’s biggest windfall however would be in the form of a chance meeting with music industry manager/producer, Dennis Wynn.
