In his own words:
My real name is Thabo Malefane and my aka is Morale. I was born in Meadowlands Zone 1 in Soweto, South Africa. I’m a proud award winning African rapper. I got into hip hop in 1993 so my style was bred in the early Le Club stages.
I’m considered “New Skool”. I have two albums out “Rising Star” and “Smile, Clap & Bow”. I founded the most influential “New Skool” clique in the South Africa music industry called "Glitz Gang". My ambition and story telling tunes awarded me success on national and continental charts. I’m known for a list of hit songs like “Promise”, “Aint No Thing”, “Ayamaah” and “Call My Number”.
I’m shooting for the moon so I reflect to the world images and stories of my hood and my dreams. I got my break after I dropped my mixtape called “Rising Son” in 2006 and I won mixtape of the year in 2007 on Hype Magazine.
I knew rap is my destiny the first time I heard hip hop music. As far as I could remember I’ve always wanted to rap. I made a conscious decision to leave my job to pursue my rap career two years back and I haven’t looked back ever since. I won my first Metro FM Music Award. It was a dream.
I plan to go international with my music. I plan to shut down the game this year with endorsement deals, continental tours and straight up giving life to ideas in my head lol.
I’m a martyr, I’m optimistic and ambitious. I’m self driven and at times I can be too consumed in achieving my own goals and ideas, this makes me a little self-centered and selfish. I get bossy and pushy when I want things done. If I had to change anything about me I would be less selfish and strong armed.
My mom always says “You live once and God has given you all the potential to be what ever you want to be. Be who you were born do be and don’t let other boys over shine you”. I’ve applied that in my life.
I’m currently promoting my new album “Smile, Clap & Bow” and touring across Southern Africa.
