Mos Def To Star In The "Jackie Brown" Prequel
The rapper/actor formerly known as Mos Def is heading back to the big screen, and his latest role will have him filling in the shoes of Samuel L. Jackson.
Yasiin Bey has signed on to co-star in a prequel to the 2002 Quentin Tarantino classic Jackie Brown alongside veteran indie actor John Hawkes, Variety reports. The film will be based on the novel The Switch by Elmore Leonard, which takes place 15 years before Leonard's subsequent novel Rum Punch, on which Jackie Brown was based.The film will be written and directed by Dan Schecter, with production scheduled to begin in May.
Yasiin was last seen in a recurring role on the Showtime drama Dexter last fall.
