Election Day - Get Out The Vote!

I know you've heard this a million times, but PLEASE vote today and let your voice be heard. Furthermore, if your right to vote gets challenged or if you see problems like voter intimidation, aggressive poll watching, broken down machines, etc. at your polling place - contact the people at Election Protection.

I know many of us are disillusioned by the perceived lack of progress by our Democratic President and Congress over the past two years - count me among those disillusioned and disappointed. But NOT voting on Tuesday won't improve our situation one iota - in fact, it will only make it worse.

Keep this in mind: The Teatards WANT progressives and LGBT voters to stay home on Tuesday. It will help them tremendously, giving them political momentum going into 2012. And sometimes in politics, momentum is all you need - especially when you lack a plan for the future and/or the intellect to govern.

Don't be a pawn of the Tea Party ... VOTE on Tuesday.

Vote On Tuesday!!!

Tuesday is Election Day - with some very important Equality & Fairness referendums on various ballots. Most of these races are extremely tight - so it is very important you get out and vote. Some reminders:

If you live in Maine - VOTE NO ON 1 - Protect Maine Equality. For more information, go HERE.

If you live in Washington state, VOTE YES ON REFERENDUM 71 - Preserve the Domestic Partnership Law. More information HERE.

If you live in Kalamazoo, Michigan - VOTE YES ON ORDINANCE 1856 - YES for Fairness & Equality. More info HERE.

There are a lot of other important races out there, and during an off-year election it's all about turnout. So don't forget to vote.

I Voted

I got up early this morning and went to the elementary school around the corner to vote. It took almost 1 1/2 hours - but all it all it went smoothly. For New Yorkers, everyone was surprisingly patient and friendly.

I am SO pissed, however, because I can't find the friggin' USB cord thingy for my Kodak camera. I took pictures at my polling place, and even took a picture inside the voting booth. But apparently my camera requires a special cord that you can't buy at Radio Shack or Staples. Damn!

There are reports of heavy voting throughout the nation. At one polling place at Penn State, more than 1000 students were in line at 7:00 am. Penn State is where I cast my very first vote for president - in 1988. I voted for ... George H.W. Bush! Thank God I had seen the light by 1992 and voted for Bill Clinton.
