Featured Reality TV Star - Rafa Mora

A few hours ago my buddy Dwight Supremacy did a post demanding that We Need Mora - a reference to Spanish reality TV star Rafa Mora - and I couldn't agree Mora more. So here is more Mora...

Happy Hump Day!

I'd never heard of Rafa before - so I did a little digging and found out that he's 28 years old, was born in Puerto Rico, and now lives in Spain. From what I can find out (most of the info on him is in Spanish), Mora is best known for appearing on a show called 'Mujeres y Hombres y Viceversa'.

But, in all honesty, who really cares about all these pesky facts when Rafa's PICTURES can do the talking for him. Amirite??

I Have A Question ...

What TV shows would you like to see me recap in the future?

I need to get back to writing recaps - especially since that's what put this blog on the map in the first place. Furthermore, after speaking to a close friend who is a big fan "Trash TV" (any show which features lots of YELLING), I'm ready to consider shows that I used to give the side-eye to. And YES, I'm side-eyeing you Housewives of Everywhere.

My thinking is this: DRAMA = entertaining recaps. I've often said that the hardest Top Chef/Project Runway episodes to recap are the last few - when the "characters" have been weeded out and only the serious contestants remain. So why not write about shows where absolutely everyone is a character?? And why must I restrict myself to competition shows only?

But here's the thing - I've spent so little time watching TV over the past year that I don't even know what's out there, let alone what's coming up. And that's where YOU - my darling DustBunnies come in.

Please leave suggestions in the Comments as to what upcoming shows you'd like me to tackle. There are NO restrictions - and the tackier/more repulsive the better...

The Dying Swan

On the Brazilian dance show Se Ela Dança, Eu Danço (which, I'm assuming, is like So You Think You Can Dance), adorable 20-year-old Brazilian street dancer John Lennon da Silva gives us his interpretation of "The Dying Swan" ballet - and it's quite moving.  Via TDW.

The Fashion NO Returns

Bravo has decided to give The Fashion Show (which is referred to around here as "The Fashion NO") another try after a HORRIBLE Season One. Thankfully, they've gotten rid of one of the big negatives from last time, Kelly Rowland, and replaced her with none other than the legendary Iman!

I think this is a brilliant move, even though there is something absolutely terrifying about Iman. She is other-worldly beautiful, and yet looks as if she could reduce Naomi Campbell to tears with nothing but an eye flick. Miss Bitchypants Isaac Mizrahi better mind his P's and Q's, lest he find himself at the bottom of the Hudson River - his hands and feet bound with Christian Dior haute couture gowns.

Actually, Isaac DOES look askeered standing next to Iman. BE AFRAID Isaac ... be VERY afraid ...

True Confessions...

I watched Frank The Entertainer in a Basement Affair last night on VH1 - mostly because I think Frank is hot.  But if Frank is 31 years old (as he claims), then I'm 17.

A Basement Affair is your typical VH1 trashfest.  Frank "The Entertainer" appeared previously on such Emmy award-winning programs as I Love New York, I Love Money, and I Love Money 2.  And since Frank didn't win any of the prize money on those shows, he still lives in his parents basement.  Along with his beautiful C * CK ...

Anywhore, A Basement Affair invited 15 rocket scientists  chaste maidens  tri-state area Ho's to come live with Frank and his parents, while Frank searches for "that special lady".  For added entertainment, his loud Mama is there to help, and she is a TRIP...

Anyone else out there willing to admit they watched?!?...

Last Night On TV - The Sing Off

The Sing-Off - which is a cross between Glee and American Idol - premiered last night and will be a four-night "special", as opposed to a season-long series. Even though most of the people last night on Twitter didn't agree, I thought it was cute.

It is a competition show featuring A Cappella vocal groups performing with no backing instruments. And the first group to perform last night was "Nota", a group of cute Papis who met in college in Puerto Rico.

A "SEXTET", to be exact! And OMG ... I fell totally in love with the chubby lead sing with the smooth voice and adorable smile...

Here is a short snippet from one of their performances. Notice my future husband singing lead...

Needless to say ... I'm rooting for the cuties from Puerto Rico to win.

Jersey Shore Report

I know many of you hate MTV's Jersey Shore, but I just can't get enough of that trashfest. So, if you posses "standards", or "taste", or "a brain" ... you may want to skip this post.

This week's big story: MTV decided it would NOT air footage of NYC gym teacherdouche Brad Ferro (below right) punching Snooki directly in her pickle-hole. Although many people have already seen it on Teh Innerwebz or on MTV promos for Thursday's episode.

MTV issued this statement:
"What happened to Snooki was a crime and obviously extremely disturbing. After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context not to show the severity of this act or resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air Snooki being physically punched in the face."

I love it - MTV all of a sudden has standards. Then how do they explain that horrible Is She Really Going Out With Him show?

And in, perhaps, even BIGGER news ... Jersey Shore cast member Pauly D says that he, unlike a certain cute Alaskan, would have no problem "showing the goods"...

And, as we found out in this Jersey Shore scene, Pauly would be showing off some JEWELRY in addition to his meat and potatoes...

Ouch! Finally, if you would like to find out your Jersey Shore Nickame, go HERE. Mine is "The Blowout" ... what's yours?

I Have A Confession...

... I have been watching (and even ENJOYING) The Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo. I know, right?!? Someone needs to sit me down and put me through an intervention.

If you have ever watched Rachel Zoe, then PLEASE watch this hilarious spoof of Rachel going to the grocery store. Rachel is played by actress/comedian Amy Phillips - who NAILS it. Or, in the words of Rachel, SHUTS IT DOWN...

Last Night On Television...

There was a lot happening on television last night. First of all, I checked out Big Brother - where Natalie (below) was revealed as the WORST.LIAR.EVER...

Natalie opened "Pandora's Box" for a chance to see her boyfriend (below) - who awkwardly proposed to her with a twist-tie engagement ring. "Hell Yeah", she responded - so romantical ...

But even more awkward than the "marriage proposal", was Natalie trying to lie about it afterward. FAIL. The funniest part of the whole scenario was the Big Baby, the Copycat, and this Big Roach With Spray (below) who entered the house and terrorized the other houseguests while Natalie was good-timing it with her man.

Also on last night was America's Best Dance Crew. Sadly, the fierce children of Vogue Evolution (below) were sent home. I am so upset...

Then it was time for Tool Academy. Last night was the always-amusing Fidelity episode. And OMG ... those Tools all seemed to want to come clean to their girlfriends about their whorish pasts. I have never seen so many blubbering Tools in all my life...

But then after "therapy", it was back to wrestling, fighting and acting like Tools...

The challenge this week was a cheerleading competition. During a Pep Rally, the couples had to come up with their own cheer. "Charm" and his girlfriend tried to to a spelling cheer using "INFIDELITY", but had some trouble...

WOOPS. And for the second week in a row, there was DRAMA with the losing Tool that was sent home. Last week the loser didn't want to leave. And this week, the Tool ended up dumping his girlfriend (instead of vice-versa)...

Finally there was Design Star - where the three remaining designtestants had to re-design a room in a celebrity home. Straight Antonio got Kathy Griffin, and it was so funny when Kathy figured out she somehow ended up with a straight designer.

I think Antonio ended up making it to the final three because he is so "different" (AKA straight). What did you think about last night's outcome?

Bravo Launches Launch My Line

After the fiasco that was The Fashion NO, Bravo is trying again with Launch My Line. From last week's press release:
The series features ten well known professionals who are highly regarded in their own field of expertise, but have always dreamed of having their own clothing line. These professionals will be paired with ten established fashion designers who will help them execute their dream clothing line. The ten pairs will be put to the test, as they have to rely on each other's expertise to produce a cohesive fashion line. Some teams form a natural connection while others have instant tension, but at the end of every episode a complete look from each team must walk the runway and be judged in front of a live studio audience. In the end, the winning professional will have their clothing line launched and their expert designer, who helped them along way, will receive $50,000.

Television fashion competition experts Tom & Lorenzo say...
We've been hearing through the grapevine for months now that, honestly, for real, no fooling, Bravo REALLY got this one right. We don't blame any of you for being wary after the crashing disappointment of The Fashion Show.

Tom & Lorenzo also have all the information (including bios on all the designers/professionals/whatevers) HERE.

One of the professionals will be RuPaul's Drag Race judge Merle Ginsberg, who I love ...

Another "professional" (which, remember, is another term for "prostitution whore!") is Patrick McDonald...

McDonald is one of those people who always gets photographed during Fashion Week because of his "look". I'll be curious to see if he actually knows how to do something besides pose for pictures.

Launch My Line premieres on Wednesday, September 16 at 9:00 pm - and will air in the time slot right before Top Chef. What do you think - will you give it a shot?

Featured Model - Danny Nunez

Model Danny Nunez appeared on the "reality" TV show - The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, which I didn't (and won't) see. I just cannot bear to watch that crazy bitch (Janice, not Danny) for more than 2 minutes without wanting to throw my television out the window.
