I did some "Hottieveillance" last night on my walk home from work. Yes, I WALKED ... and I took some pictures on the sly ...

The picture above is of Gym Bar - a popular gay watering hole on 8th Avenue in Chelsea. The seated gentleman is one of the Bouncers. To further prove that NYC is the biggest small gay town in the world, I have actually posted a picture of this gentleman before. He was the ONE hottie I photographed at the City Hall Prop 8 Rally back in November. Remember him?...

Yep ... same guy. I didn't realize they were the same person until yesterday.

NYC Prop 8 Protest

I stopped by the Proposition 8 protest in the West Village after work yesterday. There were a couple hundred people gathered at the corner of Christopher Street and 7th Avenue South - monitored by a few dozen police officers.

Okay, I'm going to be a Bad Gay now, but the protest was pretty boring. Low on outrage and energy, but heavy on the Papi Police Officers. One, in particular, really caught my eye. Even the back of Officer Romero's head (above) was sexy.

So I stopped paying attention to the protesters, and started stalking Officer Romero. Here are a few more grainy photos...

I know - BAD GAY!!! But maybe I would have been more involved in a marriage-equality demonstration if Officer Romero (or anybody else, for that matter) wanted to gaymarry me...

Anywhore, I couldn't stick around and march with Officer Romero the protesters to Union Square - I had too much crap to get done - so I hopped on the subway back home.

"Hey Hey - Ho Ho ... Homophobia's Got To Go!!"

Fierce, fabulous & fantastic - that was my experience at the Prop 8 protest tonight. There were a few thousand people there - men, women, children, gay, straight, and everything in between. We were loud, we were boisterous and we snarled traffic - which is the true test of any Manhattan civil disobedience. Once you stop traffic, you have truly MADE AN IMPACT in NYC.

Of course, when you get a few thousand fabulous homos together in one place, your going to have your funny signs. I LOVE the one above - and i made the guy stop so I could take the picture.

After chanting in front of the Mormon temple for about a half hour, we began to march toward Columbus Circle. Which was perfect for me, because that was in the direction of my apartment (I live only about 7 blocks away from Columbus Circle). This was blogging, exercising, and demonstrating ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Talk about multi-tasking!!

And this being NYC, of course there were celebs. First of all, Judy Gold - stand up comedian and Emmy-award-winning writer/producer from the Rosie show was marching. She was there with one of her sons, and kept telling the press that "My Ex is gonna KILL me!" for giving press interviews with their child. The kid (who was adorable) kept sticking his tongue out for the cameras. I respected Judy's wishes and didn't take a picture of her son. Bitches, you should have seen me - I was acting like a reporter/photographer from the New York Times. I was taking pictures while walking backwards, and then I'd pull my notebook out and take notes. Lois Lane ain't got NOTHING on me. Please take note, Pulitzer Prize committee...

Wait, I think this lady might be a celebrity. What's her name again?... Oh THAT'S RIGHT - Ms. Whoopi Friggin' Goldberg!!!!...

The press was all over her. She was holding a handmade sign that said something like "Marching For My Friends". Fierce.

Blogger Eric Leven served as one of the parade Marshalls. I tried to get a shot of his (extremely handsome) face, but I just got one of his t-shirt. Where's the outrage?

Here is a picture of Eric (below center) standing in middle of a Bear sandwich at the Gay Pride Pier Dance this summer. See, I told you he was hot. Of course, the Papi on the right is more my speed, but Eric ain't so bad. Check out Eric's blog HERE. I know this doesn't have anything to do with the demonstration, but it wouldn't be DavidDust without some beefcake.

As always, the police brought up the rear of the march - keeping everyone moving. Every time I tried to get a picture, they would look away, or someone would get between my camera and the hot officers. They were getting TIRED of me, so this was the best I could do. Can you tell how much he was digging me?!?

Finally, we all ended up in Columbus Circle. I took this picture from the Trump International Hotel - right outside the Jean-Georges restaurant windows. While standing there, two young and adorable gay guys asked me to take a picture. After my old geezer ass figured out how the camera worked (I turned it OFF during my first try), I took an adorable picture of these two adorable boys. I gave them my card and told them to send me a copy so I could put them on my blog. I bet they won't, but it would be GREAT if they did. "Stick with me kids, I'll make you STARS!".

The Associated Press is currently saying that "several hundred" people attended the protest - which is BULLSHIT. I have seen reports saying 4,000 people were there - which sounds about right.

NYC Prop 8 Protest TONIGHT

We have HAD IT with the H8! Demonstrate with us tonight at the Mormon Temple - 125 Columbus Avenue (at 65th Street) against the Mormon "Church's" role in Proposition H8's passage at 6:30 pm. Take the 1 Train to 66th Street - Lincoln Center and follow the crowds. Bring signs, candles, and your fabulous selves.

Top Chef New York - Tonight!

My darling Dust Bunnies - it's that time again. Time for the the deliciousness that is Top Chef. And to make things even better - the show takes place in NYC this season.

I am committed to recapping Top Chef this season, but tonight I will be protesting outside the Mormon Temple on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The Mormons have pissed off Teh Gays by providing the money and manpower to pass Proposition H8 in California - and we're gonna tell 'em how we feel. I will make every attempt to get in front of my television in time to take notes for a recap, but I'm not making any promises. And to you neophyte Dust Bunnies, NO - I do not own a DVR/Tivo/VCR/Etc. If I don't see the show "live and in person", then I have missed it.

Please keep in mind that the first episode recap is always the worst one - we don't yet know everyone's personalities, and there are too many cheftestants to keep track of. So if I miss the first episode, it won't kill us. Let's hope that further Prop 8 protests aren't scheduled on Wednesday evenings.

Prop 8 Protest In NYC

I want to let all my NYC Dust Bunnies know that there will be a Prop 8 protest this Wednesday at 6:30 pm. We will be protesting at the Mormon Temple at 125 Columbus Avenue (at 65th Street). Yes, I said "WE", because my formerly complacent gay ass has had enough. NO MORE MR. NICE GAY!!! From Towleroad:

"Tens of thousands of our brothers and sisters are in the streets in California and Salt Lake City and around the country protesting the votes banning same-sex marriage in California. Join them! Make your voices heard right here in New York City. We will tell the Mormon Church how we feel about its relentless campaign to condemn and control our lives. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was, by far, the biggest financier of California's heinous and hateful Proposition 8. The Mormon Church begged their members to donate money to Prop 8, pouring 20 million dollars into the campaign. And their attacks on us didn't start there and aren't about to end. They're plotting right now to bring their money and influence to bear against the LGBT community everywhere in this country, including trying to prevent marriage equality in New York."
