Nicki Minaj's Dad Fires Back At Her Accusations

Nicki Minaj's dad has gotten wind of the rapper's recent claims that she grew up in an abusive home and he insists that her description is unfair. TMZ cites anonymous sources close to Omar Maraj, Nicki's father, who say he was surprised and saddened to hear his daughter's comments.

In an interview with Nightline last week, Nicki said that when she was young, her father was an alcoholic who was violent toward her mother. She said things got so bad that she wished her dad was dead.

"We were afraid for [my mother's] life because whenever he would have a real bad outburst, he would threaten to kill her," she said. "I felt a lot of anger. I wanted to kill him. I wished he was dead."

 Omar claims that Nicki's claims are "grossly exaggerated," and her father wants people to know that he's not some kind of monster.

 He does claim that he had anger issues, but things never got to the point that the music star described.

Nicki Minaj Deletes Twitter Account

Nicki Minaj has disappointed 11,164,600 followers by deleting her Twitter account. She made the decision to go dark after a fan site, NickiDaily.com, evidently posted some leaked music from her upcoming album.

Her last tweet was dramatic

"Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good fucking bye."

Nicki Minaj Starts Beef With Jennifer Lopez

Nicki Minaj both busted out of her low-cut top and started a verbal war with Jennifer Lopez while appearing on “American Idol” last night.

The rapper appeared on “Idol” to promote her sophomore album “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,” which will be released on Tuesday. But while Minaj delivered an upbeat performance of her new song, “Starships,” she couldn’t help but raise a little trouble.

Minaj arrived on the “Idol” stage saying “I was hoping maybe I could come back and be a guest judge,” Minaj said. “JLo, can you scoot over a little bit? Let me get up in there.”

“Hey, hey,” responded Lopez, appearing taken aback. “I don’t know if there’s enough room for both of us.”

While the exchange appeared a touch heated, Minaj later explained to The Hollywood Reporter that she was not actually gunning to replace Lopez.

“She didn’t seem to be having it but she gonna have it!” Minaj said, before clarifying that she had been kidding. “No, actually, I love JLo. I love what she’s done for pop culture. I have nothing but respect for her and we were just joking around … Something like ‘American Idol,’ it’s iconic and has been around for so long and created so many stars. I would love to guest judge but as far as sitting down every week, I can’t.”

Nicki Minaj Signs Deal With PEPSI

Nicki Minaj Just Signed A Multi-Million Dollar Deal With Pepsi For Their New Drink Called “Pop”

According to Derek Jackson, the Glu agency chief who brokered the agreement, Minaj will become the face of a new Pepsi beverage nearing its debut.

The pact was one of two major partnerships between Pepsi and Cash Money / Young Money artists garnering significant attention in Austin. Lil Wayne debuted his DEWeezy campaign with Pepsi’s Mountain Dew, also negotiated by Jackson, at his South By Southwest showcase.

Like Minaj’s, terms of Wayne’s agreement weren’t officially disclosed, but Jackson told me that it was a seven-figure commitment as well. Wayne’s deal also includes an option that would result in Pepsi and Mountain Dew bankrolling an original film featuring the diminutive rapper.

Nicki Minaj Responds To Being Called A Sellout

Nicki Minaj is a long way from freestyling on staircases in the made-for-the-streets Come Up DVDs.  She is setting her sights on the top of the Billboard charts for her upcoming sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

However, some of the genre-bending singles she's released for the project, like the RedOne-produced "Starships," have gotten some of her core hip hop fans raising eyebrows and some even calling her a sellout. Minaj decided to address her critics.

"I would hope that people know at this point that I'm smart enough to know what I'm doing all the time," "But I guess they still kind of waiver. I always intended on putting out something urban after 'Starships,' because I knew 'Starships' was a monster. I didn't feel the pressure. To be honest, I feel really, really good. I feel that hip hop cares enough that they have something to say. I remember when I was hoping that someone had something to say about me on the radio or cared enough."

Minaj goes on to say that the problem lies in the threat of the reach of her pop songs, some rap fans are not ready to see her expand her sound. Still she has no intention on changing her game plans or leaving hip hop completely in the dust.

"I think people sometimes get blown away by the magnitude of the pop stuff, because the pop stuff, it reaches everywhere and then I feel like my hip hop fans or hip hop culture starts getting a little bit afraid that I'm going to leave," she continued. "But this is who I am. I'm not going to change, I'm just adding on to my brand. And if you don't understand that, then it's probably why you don't travel and don't see the world and I probably can't even have a conversation with you anymore."

Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded is set for release April 3.

Lil' Kim Calls Nicki Minaj A Stupid Ho

Lil' Kim was a guest on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live last night. Fellow guest Willie Geist asked the Queen Bee what she thought of the "performance by a certain artist who kind of ripped off your style?," at the Grammy Awards. After acting like she didn't know who Nicki Minaj was, or that she watched her rival's performance, the Notorious K.I.M told host Andy Cohen, "I'm pretty sure I feel the way everybody else feels right now," when asked about Minaj's "Stupid Ho*" diss track. "If you have to make a song called ‘Stupid Ho*,' you must be a ‘Stupid Ho*.'”

New Music Album: Lil Wayne "I Am Not A Human Being 2"

Young Money plans to take over 2012. From Tyga's "Careless World: Rise of the Last King" (Feb. 21) to Nicki Minaj's "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," (April 3) more than half of the chart-stopping crew have projects underway.

First up is Lil Wayne's "I Am Not a Human Being 2,"

Weezy has also been laying down tracks for his collaborative album with Juelz Santana, "I Can't Feel My Face," and "Like Father, Like Son," with Baby. The projects won't show face, though, till both bless their fans with their solo projects.

"Wayne wants to do the 'I Am Not a Human Being 2' and I want to do my solo album too 'Bigger Than Life', so we'll probably do that 'Like Father, Like Son' later on," Birdman says.

New Music Album: Madonna "M.D.N.A"

Madonna's new album officially has a title "M.D.N.A" . This will be the pop queen's 12th studio LP will be released in late March.

She will appear on "Nightline" and gives a  "candid and revealing" interview with the singer, in which she answers fan questions and addresses talk about a rumored rivalry with Lady Gaga.

The singer recently confirmed that M.D.N.A. will be released as part of her new three-record deal with Interscope. The first single from the project, "Gimme All Your Luvin," features Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. 

 It's set for release later this month ahead of Madonna's performance at the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show on February 5 in Indiana.

The Super Bowl performance will reportedly be "imagined" by Cirque du Soleil and Madonna's longtime choreographer/ creative director Jamie King. The event may also feature appearances from her "Gimme All Your Luvin" collaborators. According to reports, the set list for the Super Bowl show will include "Luvin" as well as Madonna classics like "Ray of Light," Vogue" and "Music."

Her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, is due in stores Valentine's Day 2012, and she has promised to unleash her alter ego throughout.

On Wednesday, Mattel will make a Nicki Minaj Barbie doll available for auction at CharityBuzz.com, to be showcased at Divine Design's five-day event and gala at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. Bids will be received through Dec. 19 and will start at $1,000.


All proceeds will benefit Project Angel Food, which provides food for men, woman and children affected by HIV and AIDS.

News: Lil Wayne Isn't Satisfied With Nicki Minaj

This is what Lil Wayne had to say in regards to "Watch the throne" and his protege Nicki Minaj:

“I haven’t heard the album. I’ll probably never hear the album,” said an uninterested Wayne about Kanye West and Jay-z's hit album.

Still, this was less surprising than what he had to say about Nicki Minaj. “I’m not satisfied with anything she’s done, “I believe she can do a whole lot more, and I believe she will do a whole lot more. It’s not shocking, and it’s not surprising. It’s quite fitting. But other than that, it’s nowhere near the end.”

News: Nicki Minaj Socked In The Face

Nicki Minaj was hanging out at the pool at the fancy Palomar Hotel when she got into a very intense verbal spat with an unidentified man she was staying with.

Nicki told a hotel employee to call police while the man went to their hotel room. Nicki followed soon after.

When cops and paramedics arrived, Nicki told authorities their poolside fight continued inside of their room and the man hit her in her lower lip.

The man had already left the scene when cops arrived but Nicki insisted she did not want to press charges. Nicki also claimed she was NOT in a relationship with the alleged attacker.

Cops tell us an incident report was taken but no charges will be filed per Nicki's request.

UPDATE: Nicki Minaj went on twitter and said:

"The fact that u believe a man either slapped or punched me in the face & didn't leave on a stretch w/his balls hangin off? #getaFuckinlife"

and she goes on to tweet "The media could pee on ur leg & tell u its raining. You'd believe it. You'd beleive u were an adopted martian if TMZ told u so. #stopit5 "

AND the plot thickens: According to TMZ Nicki and her assistant/boyfriend Safaree Samuels, were arguing at a hotel pool in Dallas Monday night and took it upstairs to the room.

According to the police report, Nicki followed Samuels up to the room they were sharing, to make sure he didn't take any of her stuff.  Nicki was looking into her suitcase in the room, which had some of Samuels' belongings, when she says he "grabbed the suitcase and as he was picking it up, he shoved the suitcase across Nicki's chin and lower lip."

The police report goes on:  "Nicki's teeth struck the inside of her lower lip, causing the inside of the lower lip to cut and start to bleed."

According to the report, a paramedic arrived on scene, but Nicki decided she didn't want to press charges so the case was closed.

So who's telling the truth now?
