Kanye West Challenges Big Sean To Evolve As An Artist
Big Sean said his verse on "Mercy" initially began as a freestyle after hearing the beat for the song backstage at the Watch The Throne concert in Detroit. It was Kanye West that pushed him to commit the verse to record.
"I think it's cool just to hear that kind of music again," he said of the song. "It's got kind of an old school vibe and a hard bounce to it."
Aside from the G.O.O.D. Music album, the rapper has already been hard at work on his new album. Of the tracks he's recorded, he said his favorite is a song called "One Man Can Change the World."
“I just feel like this album is about progression," Sean said. “I feel like everything I do I progress... Kanye said, ‘I want you to be better than me and better than Jay. I want you to be the best ’cause you the younger generation. We passing our secrets on to you.’ If you don’t take it to a new height and to new levels, then what the fuck are we doing this for? That’s the point, to evolve.”

Rapper Big Sean Talks About New Album
In a radio interview with Bootleg Kev, the G.O.O.D. Music rapper revealed some of the featured guests and producers he has worked with on the follow up to his impressive debut album, Finally Famous. With the recording process under way, Sean has picked up beats from beatsmiths Kanye West, No I.D. and KeY Wane. He’s also got songs featuring verses from Yeezy and Wiz Khalifa.
“Yeah, there’s going to be some Kanye production,” Sean revealed. “We had a couple of Kanye productions for the first one but they didn’t make the cut. One got sample clearance, couldn’t get the sample cleared in time, and the other one we just didn’t think it fit the album. Yeah, we got a lot of stuff on deck.”
“No I.D., we’ve got a song that’s going to change the world,” he promised. “It’s very inspiring. The inspiration, when you’re inspired, when you get inspired, that’s the best thing to do, through your music. I could tell you it’s an inspirational record that’s going to change the world. One verse, I rap from a perspective and the other, I rap from a crazy perspective. It’s a concept record, it’s crazy.”
And for those thinking that his newfound fame may alter his sound negatively, the witty wordsmith assures that his fan base will appreciate the growth in his music.
"I feel my new music is more reminiscent of my earlier work, only way better because I’m a way better rapper now. So I think that’s the best way to do it, to really take me back to what got me to where I am and just take it to another level.”

News: Big Sean Responds To Ludacris Diss
After Ludacris released a track on his new mixtape, "1.21 Gigawatts: Back To The First Time," that supposedly disses Big Sean and Drake, Big Sean has said that he has no problem with the veteran MC.
Ludacris' track "Bada Boom" apparently addresses Drake's June 2010 interview with AllHipHop, in which the rapper gives credit to Big Sean for inventing the punchline-heavy "hashtag" style of rapping. "I trace it back to Big Sean. That's the first guy I heard utilize that flow throughout the duration of a verse," he said. "I hate that rappers picked that flow up. I wish they had left that for people that know how to use it. 'It's a parade! MACY'S'. At that point, you never want to use it."
The problem with Drake's words? Ludacris rhymes on his 2010 single "My Chick Bad," "Comin' down the street like a parade/Macy's."

News: Drake, J. Cole, Big Sean, Wale Going On A "Dream" Tour?
Wale hit the road with J. Cole and Big Sean a few years back, but for his dream concert run the D.C. rapper hopes to gather some the game's newest talent to create a tour that rivals the grandiose concerts of yesteryear.
"I've been talking to a couple of artists about doing something for us and our generation," Wale revealed when he appeared on this week's "RapFix Live." "Something that feels like the Hard Knock Life Tour, something that feels like the Up in Smoke Tour from back in the day."
On the 1999 Hard Knock Life Tour, Jay-Z hit the road with DMX, Method Man, Redman, Ja Rule and his Roc-A-Fella click. Similarly, Dr. Dre banded with Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Warren G. for his 2000 Up in Smoke Tour. Those historic runs have been the "Ambition" MC's inspiration.
"My dream tour would be like, me, Cole, Drake, Sean, Meek," Wale told "RFL" host Sway. "I think that would be dope, something like that; big venues."
On Tuesday Wale released his sophomore album, Ambition, with Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group. Aside from his current single, "Lotus Flower Bomb," featuring R&B singer Miguel, Wale collaborates with two of his dream tourmates: Big Sean, on the Diplo-produced "Slight Work" and Meek on the LP's title track.

News: Big Sean Sex Abuse Case Charges Dropped
Big Sean will not be charged with sexually assaulting an underage girl back in August but he's not entirely in the clear.
He was arrested in August during a concert in Buffalo, NY after a 17yr old girl told police the rapper and his friend had sexually assaulted her.
Big Sean whose real name is Sean Michael Anderson was charged with 3rd degree sex abuse, forcible touching and 2nd degree unlawful imprisonment.
Prosecutors agreed to drop the first two charges on the condition that Big Sean plead guilty to misdemeanor unlawful imprisonment which carries a $750 fine.
Big Sean's lawyer Scott Leemon says the rapper has accepted the terms and has paid the fine but still insists "he did not engage in any type of sexual misconduct."

New Music Video: Kelly Rowland F/ Big Sean "Lay It On Me"
Finally a video for the song "Lay it on me" , maybe if it was released why "motivation" was still hot this might have been a huge hit. But now that the album flopped, and how she's not getting as much spins on the radio I doubt this video will help at all.

News: Big Sean Arraigned On Sexual Assault Case
Big Sean returned to Lewiston, New York, yesterday for his arraignment on charges that he and a friend sexually assaulted a 17yr old fan after a concert.
As previously reported, the 23-year-old Detroit MC, born Sean Michael Leonard Anderson, and friend Willie Antonio Hansbro, also 23 and from Detroit, were each charged by State Park Police in upstate New York on August 4 with third-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching and second-degree unlawful imprisonment. Both were released shortly after paying $500 bail each. Big Sean had performed earlier that night with Wiz Khalifa for their nationwide Rolling Papers tour.
Deputy District Attorney Holly E. Sloma said in court that a grand jury had already been scheduled, and if the rapper is indicted the case would automatically be transferred to Niagara County Court. Sloma also asked Judge Hugh C. Gee Sr. to impose a gag order due to the age of the victim and the case's sensitive nature.
Buffalo lawyer Mark J. Mahoney, who reps Hansbro, objected to a gag order, citing the First Amendment. “It’s not that we want to try the case in the media,” Mahoney said.
Gee said that he would allow the District Attorney’s office to file a request for a gag order, and he also scheduled a return court date for Oct. 11.
Big Sean and his attorney had no comment
