News: "Glee" Star's Father Stabbed To Death

Charice from the hit TV show "Glee"'s father was stabbed to death in her hometown in the Philippines, leading the teen star Tuesday to pull out of a concert in Singapore.

The singer apologized to her fans for having to skip the show scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday so she could travel home to the Philippines.

"I am not going to be there to be part of David Foster and Friends concert," she said in a post Tuesday on Twitter. "I have to go back to the Philippines as soon as possible to be with my family."

Charice had long been estranged from her father. Local media reported that Charice's mother left him when Charice and her younger brother were small children.

In another Twitter post Tuesday, Charice said she once had a "really great relationship" with her father before their family troubles began.

"I loved him and I will still love him," she wrote. "He's still my Dad after all."

She also appeared on the "Oprah Winfrey Show" and has had a recurring role on "Glee" as the character Sunshine Corazon.

Morning Madonna Break: Burning Up

Yes, I took a break last night from laundry/organizing/panicking to watch Glee– and I cannot recall a more enjoyable hour of television … EVER.

As everyone knows by now, last night was Glee’s “Madonna Episode”.  I found myself clapping, vogueing, and squealing in the midst of the mess that is my apartment.  It was like someone picked the brains of a bunch of 30/40-something gay males and created a television episode based on the results.

Madonna is the gay icon of my generation.  Like Judy Garland before and Lady GaGa currently, Madge was/is THE entertainer many gay men my age idolize.  Yes, there are others – but Madonna was/is the one for me.

I will never forget in 11^th grade when my friend Stacey played the “Madonna” album (Madge’s first - above) for me.  It was instant love.  And every time my high school gang took a road trip in Stacey’s huge Pontiac/Buick/Whatever, we always played that Madonna cassette.

My favorite song at the time was Burning Up.  In fact, I can remember doing a little in-the-car lip synch performance to the song with lots of gyrating, yearning and general writhing.  Goodness, I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gay (and yet still in the closet).

So, for your musical enjoyment, I present to you a gay icon ... Madonna ...

TeaTards Outraged at Glee's Sarah Palin Joke

Um ... the joke is about Sarah Palin being stupid. Facts are facts - and everyone knows that Gov. Moose Mess is as dumb as a bag of wet hair. So what's the issue?

But that doesn't stop conservatwit Andrew Brietbart from being outraged - OUTRAGED, I tells ya! - about Glee's part in the vast liberal conspiracy to indoctrinate your children...

"Glee" is millions of dollars of sound and fury aimed squarely at your children. And as we can now see, the creators are all about getting between you and your kids with their political and social agendas. They know Palin is a growing political force and nothing's off the table when it comes to marginalizing her -- even at the expense of their own show's entertainment value -- even at the expense of audience share.

Yeah, I'm sure Glee's producers are really concerned about losing the DOZENS of conservative viewers who may have accidentally landed on Glee as they were channel surfing between Fox News and The 700 Club.

And That's How Jane "C's" It...

On Glee, openly gay Jane Lynch plays Sue Sylvester - who always 'calls it as she "C's" it'.  Like her character, Jane Lynch doesn't have any problems speaking her mind either.

In an interview with the UK's Guardian, Lynch expressed her thoughts about recent gay rights setbacks, and her disappointment with the Obama administration...

"Shouldn't there be safeguards against the majority voting on the rights of a minority? If people voted on civil rights in the 60s, it would have never happened. It took somebody like [President] Lyndon Johnson going, 'F all of you! I'm going to do this.' Obama won't do it. He's a huge disappointment to me."

Personally, I second that emotion.

Lynch also talks about being "out" in Hollywood...

"I think if I were an ingénue – if I were Kate Winslet – it probably would hurt my career, but because I'm Jane Lynch and I'm a character actor, the world isn't projecting their romantic fantasies on me."

Screaming For Glee

The horrible shrieking noise that startled most of Manhattan last night was the sound of tens of thousands of gay men when Time-Warner Cable's Fox signal f*cking froze during the last fifteen minutes of the season finale of GLEE. This was at least second time that's happened during GLEE. TWC is clearly anti-gay. Or at least, anti-show queen.

I didn't notice, but then again my cable box freezes up all the time. Did anyone else watch Glee last night? How fanfrickingtastic is that show?!?...

Glee: I Laughed, I Cried, I Put A Ring On It

Glee continues to get better with each episode. The past two shows have dealt with FIERCE gay boy Kurt (played by Chris Colfer, above) coming out to his friends and family. And last night - fulfilling every sissy's wildest fantasy - he led the football team to victory. Right after the team worked some Beyonce...

But the best part came at the very end, when Kurt came out to his Dad. I literally laughed through my tears when his Dad replied "Yeah, I've known since you were three. All you wanted for your birthday was a pair of sensible heels". Scenes like this could end up being really offensive if done wrong - on Glee, they seem to do everything right.

Glee - Episode 2 Tomorrow on Fox

One of the most enjoyable hours of television I've ever experienced was the Pilot episode of Glee - which was shown this past spring on Fox. The goal was to get people excited about the upcoming fall season of the show, and I have to say - it worked. I cannot wait to see Episode 2 tomorrow night at 9PM on Fox.

I Am In Love...

... no, not with a real human being - but with a television show. Fox's Glee, to be exact.

I missed Glee's airing this past week, but many of you had good things to say about it on your blogs. So yesterday I watched it on Hulu - and I am truly in love. Seriously, if I could make-out with a television show, Glee would be the show I would totally suck-face with. I love Glee so much that I want to show up outside it's bedroom window with a boombox and a cassette tape of Peter Gabriel's In Your Eyes...


The pilot episode had so much going for it: Journey songs, cute guys who sing Journey songs, an Amy Winehouse "Rehab" musical number, and Jane Lynch (who plays the hard-charging cheerleading coach). I could watch Jane Lynch (below) polish brass or water her lawn - because she could somehow make it funny...


Seriously, Glee was the gayest, feel-goodiest thing I've seen since RuPaul's Drag Race. Now I just have to wait patiently for four months until the next episode (Glee is on Fox's fall schedule). Who will I make-out with until then?!?
