Snowmageddon II - A Tale of Two Boros

It looks like we got about 8 inches of snow in Astoria last night (above), and I noticed this morning that all of the streets in my neighborhood had been plowed. But when I got off the subway for work (in the Village), I could see that some of the side streets had yet to be touched by the Department of Sanitation (below).

During the real Blizzageddon, streets in Queens took DAYS to be plowed. Could it be that our BillionMayor actually listened to all the Queens and Brooklyn politicians (who screamed bloody murder last time) and made sure our streets were taken care of first???

I Missed the Snowpocalypse

Here in Central Pennsylvania we didn't even get any flurries - but NYC was hit hard by Snowmageddon 2010 - with tons of transit drama and general mayhem. Across the Hudson River, in Belmar New Jersey, they got 32 inches of snow (!) - check out this time-lapse recording of all the white stuff:

I'm Missing Snowmageddon in NYC

The interwebz are all abuzz about the Snowpocalypse that's coming to NYC (SnOMG!). But here in Central Pennsylvania they are forecasting only some scattered flurries.

I was thinking about returning to the City on Tuesday - but because of the snow I think I'll wait until Wednesday. There's no rush - my boss isn't expecting me back at work until Jan. 3rd.

If things get really bad, I've found a dog sled team that could get the job done ...
