Totally Shameless: Happy Birthday To Moi

Happy Monday!

The subway was a lot less crowded than usual today - I guess a lot of people are taking vacation during this last week before Labor Day.  Folks need to wear their summer white outfits one more time before putting them away for the fall/winter...

I don't have much on the agenda this week, but on Friday night I'll be headed to the Urge Lounge (AKA "The Urges" - below) for a belated birfday celebration....

If anyone would like to see their favorite Blogger (that would be ME, right???) in a state of utter stupidity while he drunkenly molests the "talent", then head over to The Urges at about 11:30 pm this Friday night...

FINAL NOTE: I swear to JEEBUS, Hurricane Earl better not even THINK about screwing up my weekend...

Great Birthday Dinner: Amy Ruth's

First of all, I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming amount of birthday well-wishes I got via blog comments, blog posts, email, telephone, snail mail, Twitter and even Bookface!  Seriously, ya'll made my day.

But the icing on the cake was my birfday dinner at Amy Ruth's in Harlem.  OMG ... I am still full.  Unfortunately I wasn't in "Blogger Mode" (didn't take pictures) because it had been such a long time since I'd seen my friend Shanta (the kind soul who bought my birfday dinner).  So all the pictures from this post were snagged via Google search.

Shanta had the BBQ Ribs with Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese.  I had the Honey-Dipped Fried Chicken with Potato Salad and Corn.  She had Sweet Potato Pie for dessert, and I had the most DELICIOUS Banana Pudding I've ever eaten (below).  Dinner was served with cornbread - which was the only thing I wasn't crazy about (a little too dry for me).

Amy Ruth's isn't that big - and it was full the entire time we were there.  Also, they don't serve alcohol (sorry Maddie).  But the food is delicious and it's totally worth the short trip Uptown.  The restaurant is located on 116th Street, right off Malcom X Blvd (AKA Lenox Ave) - only 1/2 block away from the 116th Street Station (2/3 line).

Check out the Amy Ruth's website HERE.

Yes, Today Is My Birfday

Contrary to what my dear sister Maddie may think, TODAY is my birfday.  But let me tell you something young Bunnies - when you get to be 19 28 39 43 like I am, you really don't feel like celebrating.  In fact, this 21-second video sums up my feelings exactly...

Anywhore, right now I'm too broke to grope the dancers at "The Urges" (AKA The Urge Lounge) - but I will try and save my pennies to do that NEXT weekend.  I've been promised by a CERTAIN BLOGGER that he will accompany me to my favorite trashy bar and help me make a nuisance of myself - and I'm going to make him keep his promise.

Luckily my friends Shanta and Isabel took pity on me and are taking me out to dinner tonight.  We're going to try Amy Ruth's in Harlem for some authentic Southern cuisine and I can hardly wait.

Happy (Early) Birfday To Me!

Yes my dear DustBunnies, even though my birfday isn't until next week, yesterday I received the BESTEST.PRESENT.EVAH - gift cards from Arby's!!!

The good people at Hunter Public Relations (they handle Arby's PR) noticed my POST lamenting the loss of the Downtown Brooklyn Arby's.  In the post I mentioned my now-dashed birthday plans of treating myself to some delicious Roast Beef.  The Hunter PR people read my post and sprang into action.

Tracy emailed me and asked for my address - reminding me that there are two Arby's locations in the city (both in Queens, but not very close to me). After doing some research, it looks like I could get to the one in Middle Village - via subway, bus and walking.  Hey, I'm willing to go the extra mile (literally) for my favorite Roast Beefstro...

But what totally sealed the deal was the generous birthday present of Arby's gift cards (which arrived in my mailbox yesterday)!!  Oh I am SOOOOO there, maybe even this weekend.

Thanks to Tracy, Hunter P.R., and Arby's for their generosity.

And speaking of generosity (and presents), my favorite artist - the fabulous RONA GREEN - recently sent me something gorgeous, and well as some things for YOU.  Stay tuned for an upcoming giveaway...

I'm Not Even 43 Yet!

This was an ACTUAL email I received yesterday.

Yes, my birfday is in 3 weeks - but NO, I don't qualify for AARP ... at least not yet!  But they LOVE to remind me that my rapidly-aging bootay isn't getting any younger.  Biatches.

Here's what I want to know: Can "29 year-olds" (cough cough) still receive those fabulous grocery coupons???  Because "50 cents Off Dawn Dishwashing Liquid" - truly transcends age...

Thank You!

I just wanted to thank you for all the birthday wishes that were sent my way yesterday via comments, phone calls, text messages and cards. And I was really blown away to see so many of you did actual blog posts wishing me a happy day. Seriously bitches, it made me feel VERY loved and VERY special.

Today I am home cleaning my apartment and preparing for the weekend with Maddie and Ginger. FYI: due to the ongoing birfday festivities, I probably won't be recapping Project Runway this week.

It's Mah Birfday!

I wonder how many Weight Watchers points I could consume at Arby's after work tonight? Hmmmm?? ....

No plans for celebrating my 42nd birthday today - because there will be plenty of celebrating over the weekend with Maddie and Ginger. But I AM taking the rest of the day off from blogging. And BTW, if any of you know the whereabouts of Franky G, please send him to my apartment immediately...

Don't forget to watch Top Chef tonight - and look for The Minx's recap sometime tomorrow.

>P, B!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Thank you all VERY much for your birthday wishes. I appreciate it so much – you guys are the best.

I also got an unexpected birthday gift today in the form of an ANGRY COMMENT! Oh how I love it when people can’t take a joke! “Anonymous” (how very BRAVE!) left me this angry comment in regards to my last Project Runway recap (I’ve left her misspellings intact):

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Project Runway Episode Six - Hot Tranny Messes Up In Here":

As a straight woman who would rather hang with a gang of drag queens or gay men, than straight beer drinking guys anyday, this post offended me.

I usually love your recaps but this one is discusting in regards to the Varla and Joe constant sexual references.

Keep your fantasies of converting straight men to yourself please.

You are the reason so many staright men are still homophobic in this day and age.

You are the kind of gay I could see encountering a straight man in a restroom somewhere and pulling out your cock and stroking it while walking towards the poor guy saying "Oh c'mon you know you want it stud!"

Gay men like you who always assume that straight men secretely have raging boners at the thought of drag Queens, Trannies, or other guys in a Gym locker room are the reason why homphobia is still rampant and so many close-minded straight men assume every gay guy is gonna try to put the moves on them. You just cannot accept that some people are straight and have no curiousity or confusion about whether they like dick or vagina.

Get over yourself Mr. Delusional Dust.

I'm sure Joe's poor wife and daughters love you turning their husband/father into a closeted homosexual who desperately wanted his drag queens dick every chance you got.

I know you and your loyal fans will go off on me for this but I really don't care this post pissed me off!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! This is the Best.Present.Evah!!

Now let’s see … she(?) had no problem with my constant threats of stabbing Suede. She had no problem with me saying that Stella is a heroin addict. She had no problem with hinting that Leanne might cut out Tango’s voicebox(alicious). She had no problem with me calling Guatemalan and Mexican drag queens “sequined savages”. She had no problem with me making fun of Suede’s dead grandfather and his wacky dream about Brussels sprouts. She had no problem with me hinting that Tim Gunn has been suicidal lately. And finally, Miss(?) Anonymous had NO problem with me making fun of the other drag queens (Sharon Needles=crystal meth, LeMay=fugly, Annida Greenkard=Guatemalan Tranny Hooker).

The only thing she had a problem with is my joke about Straight Joe hooking up with Varla??????

It sounds like Miss Thang’s last boyfriend left her for a prettier (and more interesting) DRAG QUEEN.

Thanks for the comment, darling!!!!!

Happy birthday to me … happy birthday to me … !!!
