According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reid, who took over as Epic chairman in July also joins Simon Cowell as a judge on Fox's upcoming show "The X Factor", is trying to recruit Outkast in an attempt to remake the once great label.
Outkast and Reid have a long history together, as the veteran record executive signed the legendary duo to their first deal in 1994 while running Laface Records. Reid is reportedly also eying Ciara, another Atlanta-native and LaFace alumn, for an Epic deal. The R&B star recently had a messy working relationship with her former label, Jive.
