The 10-story building at 5 Beekman Street in Lower Manhattan looks just like any number of old buildings located in the oldest part of the city. However, the inside of the building reveals some exquisite ruins...
The building was bought in 2008 by developers who wanted to turn it into a luxury hotel (just what Manhattan needs!). But the bank who holds the loan on the property recently filed to foreclose, so this neglected but gorgeous building interior will remain for a little while longer.
BTW - if anyone is looking to buy me a Christmas gift, this building would be perfect. I would totally open a go-go guy bar under the skylights!!
