NYC's Fleet Week 2010 Comes To An End...

A warm "buh-bye" to all the cute Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen who visited NYC over the past week.  Thank you for all you do - and may your journeys elsewhere be rewarding and free of incident.

Tattoo Man by Allan James Saywell

Mirror a little question
Is that a tattoo or is it me

All tattoo, very little skin
There is a tattoo, of a devil

On my little fellow,

His eyes glow in the dark,

Puts a little magic, in my marriage

Gives my body a certain carriage

Afternoon Dance Break - Moving On Up

Continuing the "moving" theme that dominates my life right now, here is M People with their megahit "Moving On Up"...

Was Extramarital "Lockbox" A Factor in the Gore's Separation?

It was ANNOUNCED today that Al and Tipper Gore will be separating after 40 years of marriage.  I just hope Vice President Gore wasn't fiddling with someone else's Lockbox...

Cristiano Ronaldo Endorses Same-Sex Marriage

Portugal legalized gay marriage last month, and Portuguese soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (above) thinks it's a good thing, saying:
"The Portuguese man that I am, I try to keep informed about what is happening in my country. I know the law was passed and the comment it deserves is that we must respect the choices made by anyone, because, after all, all citizens should have the exact same rights and responsibilities."
If this is Cristiano's coy way of asking me to gaymarry him, the answer is an emphatic "YES!".  FYI:  We will be registered at Dollar General and Midtown Wines & Liquor.

I STILL Haven't Moved...

... but that's not a bad thing.  The past four days were spent washing clothes/linens, sorting, throwing stuff away, and organizing.  I've vowed that this time I won't just move my mess to my new apartment.  I have also decided that:

1. There is absolutely no reason for me to go to the Dollar Store 3 times a week.  You cannot imagine how much Dollar Store crap I threw away - it was ridiculous.  Possible fly in the ointment:  there is a Dollar Store literally around the corner from my new place which I'll have to pass every day.  Yikes.

2. I do not need to buy socks, underwear, or t-shirts EVER AGAIN.  Seriously - I have enough Hanes products to last me well into my golden years.

So I will finish up packing this week and try to get everything moved to the new place in the next few days.  My major problem is transportation - because of my credit situation I can't just rent a van, I have to find some kind of mover.  And that isn't necessarily cheap.

BTW - yesterday's Hoarders marathon on A&E was an extremely effective tool in motivating me to throw stuff away.

Sinkhole In Guatemala City

When I first saw this picture, I thought it was photoshopped.  But apparently this sinkhole in Guatemala is VERY REAL.
