Times Square Car Bomb

By now you may have heard about the failed car bomb which was found yesterday in Times Square.  Last night I happened to be walking through the neighborhood (my apartment is a couple blocks away) and I wondered why there were hundreds of police and tourists milling about the streets of the Theater District.  I thought maybe the Obamas were seeing a Broadway show (they were actually in D.C.) - and it wasn't until this morning when I learned about the failed bomb.

It's weird to think about, but if that bomb HAD gone off a lot of people would have been killed and/or injured - possibly including yours truly.

Heavy Firepower in the NYC Subway

NYC has stepped up security at spots in the city - including the subway (the picture above was taken at the Grand Central subway station).  This is a response to the recent suicide bombings in Moscow.

I realize this is necessary, but seeing armed guys with machine guns makes me feel uneasy - not safe.  I absolutely HATE guns, and seeing this makes me feel like I'm living in a war zone.  Which, I guess, I am.

Let me ask you ... would armed soldiers in your city/town make you feel safer from the threat of terrorism?

Newest Terror Threat: BoobieBombers!

According to the U.K.'s Telegraph, radical plastic surgeons could be creating bombs out of breast implants!...

Explosives experts have reportedly said just five ounces of Pentaerythritol Tetrabitrate packed into a breast implant would be enough to blow a “considerable” hole in the side of a jumbo jet.

It would be virtually impossible for airport security scanners to detect the explosive if hidden inside a breast, medics have said.

Note to Homeland Security: if terrorists get hold of Pam Anderson, they could blow up the entire West Coast!!  WE MUST PROTECT PAM!!!
