A Dip In The Pool

“I do not want a friend who smiles when I smile, who weeps when I weep; for my shadow in the pool can do better than that.”

Summers End

So here we are.
Summers end is near.

The sun is setting on one more year.
The weathers getting cold,
the parties are dying down.

School starts soon,
so lets gather round
For one last bit of summer fun,

when the sun goes down,
it will be our last one.

So lets go out with a bang
lets finish this right

Raise your glasses in the air
lets toast to this night.

One Last Hurrah For The Boys of Summer

By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer's best of weather
And autumn's best of cheer.

A Dip In The Pool by Sheena Blackhall

There is no luxury like water,
Blue as the Hope Diamond.

Land rules cease to apply,
Are firmly marooned on shore.

The peace dove's dropped its feathers Just for me.
The pool receives me kindly Asks no questions
Makes no assumptions Demands no entry fee.

It washes away the heat, the dust, the noise
Of the crowded day.

Succour, solitude, silence.
Oh the silence, the silence
Sweeter than larks' tongues
Or honey from amber bees!

I kick my heels like a fish,
Chasing the wobbling coracles of light.
Creature of fluid boundaries, I watch day drown, knowing,
Like Noah, new lands will rise like growling whales.

Who Wears Short-Shorts? We Wear Short-Shorts!

Karim Morabib

I love wearing shorts (I even wear them to work) - I just wish I looked as good in them as these guys do. Now that summer is over, I'll soon have to put my shorts away and get used to wearing jeans again :(
