Annette Funicello Survives House Fire - Suffers Smoke Inhalation
Old-school Mouseketeer (and Multiple Sclerosis survivor) Annette Funicello's house burned down yesterday, but apparently she survived. From the L.A. Daily News:
Annette Funicello, the Disney Mouseketeer who later starred in a series of beach-party movies, suffered smoke inhalation Thursday in a fire that gutted her Encino home.
Funicello, 68, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital after she and two other people - identified by neighbors as husband Glen Holt and a nurse - fled the burning home.
Funicello is a national treasure and I pray that she will recover from this.

Macy's Herald Square Evacuated During Fire
According to Gothamist, Macy's flagship store in Manhattan was evacuated this afternoon because of a relatively minor fire. I just watched a local TV news report, and a Macy's Sales Associate said that shoppers were still asking for price checks and gift boxes during the evacuation. Only in New York...
