I Feel The Earth Move

Well, actually I DIDN'T - but it's a great excuse to post a Savage Chickens cartoon (above) and this little ditty by Carole King...

What Earthquake?!?

As most of you now know - the Northeast U.S. was hit with a magnitude 5.9 earthquake (which is big for us, don't judge). Meanwhile, I didn't feel a damn thing. My job is located directly over the 7th Avenue Subway line, so the ground rumbles about every 5-10 minutes and we don't even notice.

On the other hand, Mama Bunny - who is located in South-Central Pennsylvania - REALLY felt it and ran into her front yard (as did her neighbors). But she is fine and there was no damage.

Now I'm trying to figure out how to use this incident to possibly go home early...

Because What Haiti REALLY Needs Is Solar-Powered Bibles...

A faith-based group has decided to send solar-powered Bibles to the desperate and hungry masses in Haiti.  From News.Com.Au...

These are solar-powered audible Bibles that can broadcast the holy scriptures in Haitian Creole to 300 people at a time.
Called the "Proclaimer," the audio Bible delivers "digital quality" and is designed for "poor and illiterate people", the Faith Comes By Hearing group said.

I'm not saying that the people of Haiti don't need the comfort and hope of religion in their time of need.  I'm just saying that with Haitians rioting for food and clean water, solar-powered bibles are probably NOT what most residents are hoping to receive right now.

How about a cash donation to the Red Cross?!?  Is all I'm saying...
