Tyler, the Creator is back on the airwaves again, promoting a variety of new projects from his group Odd Future. In a recent interview with DJ Drama, he touched on a recent controversy caused by a line in the group's latest single "Rella," in which he states, "Let's get it poppin' like MC Lyte around some dykes."
MC Lyte responded to the line by saying she felt "insulted" and that she didn't appreciate being used as a "stomping ground."
“I don’t know if she’s gay or not,” Tyler said when asked about the offending lyric. “It was a joke. But if she took offense, so be it… I don't think about anyone's feelings when I'm writing my shit. I’m not gonna apologize"
The 21 year old went on to recommend that Lyte learn to roll with the punches.
"Usually people in that position, you’d think they would laugh it off and go on with their day," he said. "But I guess she caught feelings"
