See my previous Rusty Winchester post here. After I posted Rusty's pictures way back in October, 2007, I got my first "fan mail" from a reader. I was SO happy to hear that ANYONE read my blog, and to make matters even better - the guy was HOT (he sent me his pic).

But the fact that the reader was sexy shouldn't surprise anyone. Because everyone knows that DUST BUNNIES ARE SEXY BEASTS!!!

HGTV Can SUCK MY ASS

The 'rumor' was true. Mikey V was NOT included in the Design Star finale. Host Clive Pearse simply stated at the beginning of the show: "Mikey V is not with us". Why didn't he tell the truth: "HGTV is afraid of alienating its conservative viewers, so we kicked the controversial fag to the curb". To which I respond: "Fuck off, HGTV".

I have been corresponding with a friend of Mikey's, who had purchased a non-refundable plane ticket to go to Nashville with Mikey - along with other friends and family. Less than two weeks before the taping of the finale, Mikey had to tell his friends and family to cancel their (non-refundable) tickets. Because Mikey wasn't allowed talk about the show AT ALL, he couldn't even give his loved-ones an explanation. Unfortunately, I couldn't get anyone to confirm or deny this (I emailed HGTV and others) - so I didn't post this information, until now.

That is just SHADY. Mikey V made a mistake when he was young (who HASN'T?) - and HGTV now doesn't want anything to do with him. This shouldn't surprise anyone, if you use the word "gay" on the HGTV message boards, your post must be "reviewed" - and never ends up getting published. To HGTV, gay = "curse word".

There will be no recap of the finale - I am pissed, and don't feel like promoting HGTV anymore.

Congratulations to Jennifer on being named Design Star. Too bad you have to be on HGTV.

Next Design Star To Be Announced Tonight!

Tonight at 9:00 pm (EST), HGTV will announce the winner of Design Star Season 3. Everything I've seen on the Internet points to a win by Jennifer, but I'm still hoping it's Friend-of-DavidDust Matt Locke.

In addition to the winner, the other big thing to watch for tonight will be whether or not Mikey V attended the Finale. I have gotten emails saying that he was "dis-invited" to the Finale due to the revelations of his past appearance in a porn video. UPDATE: Mikey V was NOT at the taping of the show.

Speaking of MySpace, I actually contacted Mikey V through his MySpace page, and I got a response! This is how it began:

Hey David,

Thanks for writing me, I gotta say I loved reading your reviews of each week's DS episode. You really have a talent for writing, I was laughing like crazy thru each [post].

BE STILL MY HEART! Mikey would NOT comment about the show (or whether or not he would appear in the Finale), but he DID say he might be interested in doing an interview with me after this was all said and done.

I told him that DavidDust would be the perfect place for him to tell his side of the story - since we are all big fans of his. And trust me, I will be following-up to try and land this interview starting tomorrow morning!

There is one problem though. I turn into a retarded Jerry Lewis when I speak to cute guys. I just can't do it. I can imagine hearing his voice on the other end of the telephone, and the only thing I'll be able to say is "Heeeeyyyy Laaaady!" Great, there goes my Pulitzer Prize for Journalism - destroyed by a hot Papi with a sexy voice ....

The Great Blogger Lockout Crisis of 2008 Ends

Yeeeeaaaaahhhhhh - I'M BACK!! I have access again to DavidDust - and this is where I'll be doing my blogging for the foreseeable future.

First of all, I am kind of glad this happened, because it made me realize that although the content on DavidDust is mine, it's kind of like having your stuff in a rented apartment - if the landlord locks you out, you can't your neat stuff. This was definitely a wake-up call.

I am also glad I figured out how to "backup" to WordPress. In the future if this ever happens, I can move directly over there and not miss a beat. Albeit without my fancy Statue of Liberty header, but at least I have a plan.

Thirdly, even though I really couldn't afford the $90 I spent to buy http://www.daviddust.com/, it is something I've been meaning to do for a long time. If I want to continue growing my blog into the international powerhouse of Papis and Recaps that I hope for, then chaining myself to Blogspot will only hold me back. So I'm glad this drama forced me to do this.

Lastly, this crisis really made me see how important my blog is, and how important all of YOU are to me. The first thing I panicked about was not being able to connect with you - and that upset me. So don't ever leave me, darling Dust Bunnies, or I'll go crazy!!
