Penn State 31 - Notre Dame 10

I am a proud Penn State graduate, so I was very excited that PSU defeated the hated Notre Dame "Fighting Irish" on Saturday. I was busy watching my "Heroes" dvds (btw, NEVER again!) so I didn't get to see the game.

They had the 2nd largest crowd EVER at Beaver Stadium (110,078 people) - and they did another "White Out" where all Penn State fans/students/alumni were instructed to wear white. And by the looks of it, they listened.

Back when I was at Penn State, we would always wear some kind of Penn State garb to the stadium, but they never had a coordinated "White Out" or anything like it (maybe they now have a Queen doing the fashion coordination). It's kind of neat seeing the entire stadium in white - it really makes the few opposing fans stick out.

Jack's 99 Cent Store - NYC

I am ALL about Dollar Stores. I love, love, love them. There is something about walking into a store where you can afford EVERYTHING. It always makes me feel like the Mack Daddy - "here's a dollar kid, buy yourself something pretty!".

The Rolls Royce of Dollar Stores in Manhattan is Jack's 99 Cents. They have 2 locations which I frequent a few times each week. The "flagship" on 32nd Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues), and a smaller version on 40th Street (between 5th and Madison Avenues). You can get EVERYTHING at Jack's - food, paper products, office supplies, candles, toiletries - you name it, Jack's has it.

Here's a hint - although the 40th Street store is smaller, it sometimes has a better selection of the "good" stuff. The flagship store is SO busy that the "good" stuff gets taken immediately, whereas the 40th Street store has a little less traffic and the good stuff stays around a little longer. Case in point, I bought a REALLY cute pair of sunglasses at the beginning of summer at the 40th Street store, and immediately kicked myself for not buying EVERY PAIR while they still had them. Sure enough, my best friend Michael and I were there yesterday and he noticed they had them again. I bought 5 pairs, and I am all set in the sunglasses department for a LONG time - all for $5.00!!!

Daddy Of The Day - A-Rod

Sometimes you got to adjust things!

Today's Daddy of the Day is Alex Rodriguez, AKA "A-Rod" - the 3rd Baseman for the New York Yankees. Last night he hit 2 home runs in the same inning (!) to help beat the Seatle Mariners, the team the Yankees are battling for a Wild Card spot in the post-season.

He is 32 years old, with Dominican heritage, and is probably the best baseball player playing the game right now.

And did I mention he is HOT?!?!

Daddy Of The Day - Adam Rodriguez

Today is Labor Day, and I am enjoying the day off from work. A&E is showing a "CSI Miami" marathon - but unfortunately I have seen most of them. However, that's not stopping me from watching these episodes again.

I was never one of those people who watched Law & Order, CSI, etc., until I laid eyes on Adam Rodriguez. He is 32, Puerto-Rican & Cuban, and 6' 1". And he has the sexiest damn lips I have ever seen. About a year ago A&E had another CSI Miami marathon, and that's when I discovered the show and fell for this hottie.

I could watch Adam all day - and I plan on it!

My Ex

This is my "ex". Yes, he's straight. Yes, he has a longtime girlfriend (but no kids). Yes, he has spent a third of his life in prison. Yes, he's an addict. And yes, he was DRAMA.

But I still miss him...............
